Hello BLA Class of 2015!!!
Welcome to Grade 9 College English! This website will serve as a host for your needs during your year in my class. You will have access to your assignments, my contact information and discussion boards. So, please read the following rules and guidelines before you begin!
Make sure your parent/guardian has access to this website! Show them, email it, tattoo it (kidding). But, your parents need to have the opportunity to see what you are doing in this class.
You NEED to and are REQUIRED to check the website everyday! You will find opportunities for extra credit, last minute changes or additions to your assignments or places to contact your peers.You have the opportunity for 24 hour access to your education! You will be able to download your assignments, start discussions boards for help and yu have been invited to pioneer a new form of classroom discussion.
We will be holding discussions about current events and other issues related to our English curriculum. These threaded discussions will allow you to investigate an issue, form your own commentary, and react to others’ comments on a number of issues. While it is important to continue to improve interpersonal and public speaking skills, this is a great way for those of you who, for whatever reason, are reluctant to participate in class to voice your ideas.
For security purposes, only students in my classes will be allowed to participate in the discussion. This way I can regulate what people post. It is crucial that you DO NOT post profanity, slanderous comments, or any other offensive remarks Your posts will be graded and ALL posts must focus solely on the issue under discussion.
IMPORTANT! Posts will be closely monitored. If you choose to post anything that I deem irresponsible, nonacademic, or offensive you will be suspended from the discussion board, receive zeros for all of the remaining discussions, and be subject to further punishment.
